Just Do You!

When we say that things "Feel right," what are we actually getting at? Phrases like "Follow your heart," "Get in a groove," and "Do you" get thrown around on the regular, but why? On the surface these can seem simple, and nothing more than inspirational tag lines on some internet meme. However, what's at work here is quite significant-- these are our attempts to put into words one of the most important feelings that we can ever hope to have: Authenticity.

In a state of inauthenticity, life sucks. Pretending to be something you're not never bodes well for cultivating happiness, growth, or anything else positive in life. Fundamentally, Champ Camp embodies authenticity. Counselors and kids alike are encouraged to show up and express themselves. Athletes, artists, surfers, bookworms, gamers, dancers, and everything in between, make up our little party on the sand. Without such a glorious mix of people, we wouldn't be who we are today (which would ironically be quite inauthentic).

So, whatever it is that you want to do or be, go do that thing. Now. Otherwise, you're probably not going to be that fun to hang out with.

Do you!
