BOOGIE FAQ

WHAT’S THE AGE RANGE FOR SUMMER boogie CAMP?

What experience level is this program designed for?

boogie Board Camp is ideal for all levels of Boogie Boarding experience! Whether your kiddo has never laid on one or they’ve been shredding for years, our coaches will meet them right where they’re at and go from there!

Please note that Our boogie board program is designed for an older population of campers who are generally more comfortable in the ocean and are stoked to hone their Boogie Skills. So, while we don’t expect campers to be able to perform buoy swims (props to the L.A. County Lifeguards who do those in their sleep!), participants should be able to comfortably stand in the ocean without holding hands, wade through the water, and dive under waves on their own. Also, the ideal boogie camper enjoys the water and wants to boogie board their day away!

What are your hours and how long does a session last?

Boogie camp sessions Run monday-friday from 9:00 Am - 3:00 PM, WITH A BRAND spankin’ NEW Session STARTING EACH WEEK.

How do drop-off and pick-up work?

For all locations, drop-off takes place from 9:00 TO 9:30 am. We stagger the time in order to minimize traffic back-ups.

Pick UP runs from 2:40 TO 3:00 pm. Simply pull up to the same spot that you dropped off your camper in the morning and a CHAMP CAMP staff member will be there ready to help your camper to the car. Thank you for your steadfast patience and cooperation throughout this process!

Please note that if you arrive after the drop-off window (excluding early drop off families), you’ll need to park and walk your kiddo to camp on the beach. THANK YOU in advance for NOT BLOCKING TRAFFIC OR DRIVEWAYS!

Regarding location-specific drop-off and pick-up details, you will be emailed visual instructions in the week preceding your session(s).Do you offer an early drop off option?

YEP — NEW FOR 2024, WE’RE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE AN EARLY DROP-OFF OPTION OF 8:20 AM! THIS OPTION WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE IN LIMITED QUANTITIES EACH WEEK. THE COST IS $24 PER kid per DAY, WHICH FAMILIES CAN OPT INTO DURING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS.

Do you offer an extended care option?

We do not! With such an action-packed day, camp ends promptly at 3:00, as we don't want our kiddos (or coaches!) to be too tired for the rest of the week's fun!

Are there any other activities offered outside of boogie boarding?

For sure! A helpful way to think about our Boogie Camp Program is that its daily schedule is essentially the inverse of beach camp’s as far as the amount of water time vs. game time on the sand. so, our boogie program extends the amount of daily water time for boogie camp kids, while also alLotting plenty of the schedule to play all those epic champ camp beach games that our kids have come to love. Some of these classics include dodgeball, volleyball, Relay races, tag games & More — CLick below for a comprehensive list of our beach activities!..

Is Champ Camp Licensed?

You Betcha! SINCE 2012, We’Ve BEEN on a shortlist of Companies licensed by l.A. County Dept. of Beaches and harbors to offer beach camps in the south bay. This means that we adhere to and are held accountable for the highest standards of safety out there. Our covid safety plan, and general safety policies and procedures, are all approved by L.A. County!

How’s my boogie boarder grouped?

In short, kids aren’t separated into different groups, but operate as one big happy boogie boardin’ family! However, Although all boogie camp kids follow the same general daily itinerary, campers still enjoy the same freedom of beach camp to take breaks from the action when they want, switch activities when they want, etc.
